We said our goodbyes to Sister Stella this month. She is with the Lord! She no longer suffers! We are praying much for Jose, Diana, Nicholas, Veronica and Alejandro!

Interesting days

These have been difficult yet exciting days at Emmanuel. Joshua Sanchez was sent home yesterday after many difficult months and by God's grace is doing much better. On th other side, our sister Stella has been diagnosed with extremely advanced cancer and is really struglling at present and feeling pretty strong physical symptoms. Our hearts go out to those in our midst who are struggling! We are so grateful for a faithful God! He knows what He is doing!

In the midst of all of this we are taking final steps of preparation for the work in Bridgeton. It can seem overwhelming at times, all that must be done, but we are convinced that God has called us and that He will be faithful! Lord willing we will open doors for services by the end of June! How is it that our little church could be planting another church? Only one answer! God! We know it's all Him and ALL the glory will go to Him!

Estos han sido días dificiles y a la misma vez emocionantes aqui en la iglesia Emanuel. Josue Sanchez finalmente regresó a casa ayer despues de varios meses de lucha y por la gracia de Dios está mucho mejor. A la misma vez, nuestra hermanita Stella ha recibido un diagnosis de cancer muy avanzado y de verdad está luchando con symptomas físicas ya muy fuertes. De verdad nos unimos en corazón con nuestros hermanos que están sufriendo. ¡Estamos agradecidos por un Dios fiel quien nunca falla! ¡Él sabe lo que hace!

Aun en el medio de todo esto estamos tomando los pasos finales de preparación para la obra en Bridgeton. Hay veces que parece inalcanzable y demasiado fuerte todo lo que se necesita hacer, pero estamos convencidos que Dios nos ha llamado y él será fiel. Dios primero abrirémos las puertas para los servicios para el fin de Junio. ¿Como es que nuestra pqueña iglesia pdría estar plantando una iglesia? Hay sólo una respuesta: ¡Dios! Sabemos que él lo está haciendo todo y toda la gloria es para él.

On April 9th, Josh was in an awful car accident. He is really struggling physically and facing several surgeries and much therapy. We love him and his precious family. Our prayers are with them! May they know how special they are to us and how much we care!

El 9 de Abril Josue estuvo en un horible accidente. De verdad está luchando fisicamente y se enfrenta a varias operaciones y mucha terapia. Le amamos a el y a sus preciosos padres. Nuestras oraciones están con ellos. Queremos que sepan cuan especiales son en nuestras vidas y cuanto les queremos.

James' Homegoing

We gathered on Thursday to say goodbye to James Gross, the nephew of Sister Susie Horta who went home in a car accident. Our church family really rallied around to help and the funeral service was glorifying to the Lord. We are praying for the family and his mother Donna in particular! God bless you all!

Nos juntamos el Jueves para despedirnos de James Gross, el sobrino de la Hna. Susie Horta quien fallecio en un acidente de automobil. Los Hermanos de nuestra iglesia demonstraron su amor ayudando en estos días. El servicio funerario glorifico al Señor. Sunday was a special day for our church. Bro. Juan Kovalchuck and Bro. Alberto Hernandez presented 16 of our members with Diplomas upon completion of the Church Planter's basic training that we have undergone in preparation for the work in Bridgeton. We are thrilled about the spirit and excitement within our congreation about this challenge! We are trusting God for great things!

El Domingo fue un día especial para nuestra iglesia. El Hno. Juan Kovalchuck y el Hno. Alberto Hernandez presentaron diplomas a 16 de nuestros miembros quienes completaron el entrenamiento basico para plantadores de iglesias. Creémos que el Señor tiene algo lindo preparado en este esfuerzo de plantar una obra hermana en Bridgeton. Es emocionante ver la entrega de parte de nuestros miembros para esta visión.

We truly are blessed with a wonderful family in Christ! I have been struck of late with the way that within this body of believers the love and care of our Lord are expressed in time of need, and we are also able to share the mountaintops! One of the wonderful blessings of the Christian life is to be “family” with such an amazing group of people! Over the nine years that my wife and I have been here, we can truly say that this wonderful group of people has become almost closer and dearer to us than our blood family. Let’s take the time to smell the roses! Treasure the relationships around you! Pour your lives into each other! Reach out to draw into your lives the newer people God has brought us! Here at Emmanuel, we are family!

¡De verdad somos bendecidos con una maravillosa familia en Cristo! Me he maravillado ultimamente de la manera en la cual este grupo de creyentes sabe demonstrar amor y apoyo en los momentos mas difíciles y tambien sabe compartir los momentos preciosos como familia. Una de las grandes bendisiones que el Señor nos ha otorgado es ser parte de esta linda familia. En los nueve años que llevamos aqui mi esposa y yo, podemos de verdad decir que este grupo ha llegado a ser mas casi cercano y precioso en nuestras vidas que nuestras familias de sangre. Tomémos el tiempo de disfrutar las rosas. ¡Goze las relaciones que tiene aqui. Comparta de verdad su vida con las personas que le rodean. Hagamos el esfuerzo de hazer las personas mas nuevas de verdad parte de este circula lindo. Aqui en la Iglesia Emanuel ¡de verdad somos familia!

From Pastor's Desk 2/24 -- Two more years?

As I was reading the story of Joseph being sent to prison this week (Genesis 41) I was struck by this question: Why after Joseph interprets the dreams of Pharoah’s two servants does God leave him in that cell for two more years? Scripture simply says ...”two years later...” Simple words, yet Joseph had to suffer through those two extra years one day at a time even though he was innocent! I imagine Joseph had to struggle on many occasions with the same “why” questions that You and I tend to struggle with! He may well have gone to his grave not fully understanding why God called him to suffer through those two long years. At the end of the day we’re in the same boat! There are things we may NEVER understand! He remains a good God! He is in control! Can You trust Him?

Mientras leia la historia de Jose siendo enviado a la carcel en estos días (Genesis 41) me hize esta pregunta: ¿Porque, despues que Jose interpretó los sueños de los siervos de Faraón el Señor lo deja allí en la carcel por dos años mas? La Bíblia simplemente dice “Dos años despues...” Palabras simples, pero Jose tuvo que sufris esos dos largos años, un día tras otro aunque era inocente. Me imagino que Jose lucho varias veces con las mismas preguntas “¿porque?” Que nosotros enfrentamos tambien. Puede que nunca entendio el porque de esos dos años. En fin de cuentas nosotros nos encontramos en la misma situación. Hay cosas que puede que nunca entenderémos. ÉL permanece Dios y bueno. ¿Puedes confiar en él?

I have been reminded again this week in such a visceral way of the reality that life is brief and that tomorrow is not promised us! Why is it that we so easily ignore our own frailty and walk around as if we had a 100 year guarantee? Why is it that our decisions are seldom taken with the burning realization that this could be my last day on earth? Why do we seldom consider our mortality... Except for at someone else’s funeral, and then only in a passing way? Each of us are living on borrowed time! Each of us are called to the realization that we will answer for how we have used the time, talents and treasure that He has blessed us with! Are you living for eternity?

He sido recordado una vez mas esta semana en un manera muy real que la vida es corta y que mañana no nos es prometido. ¿Porque ignoramos tanto cuan fragiles somos y actuamos como si tuvieramos una garantia de 100 años de vida? ¿Porque parece que nuestras decisiones casi nunca son tomadas con la realización que este podría ser mi ultimo día de vida? ¿Porque parece que no consideramos el hecho que somos mortales excepto en el funeral de alguien mas y entonces sólo por momentos? Todos estamos viviendo momentos prestados. Todos somos llamados a la realzación que un día muy pronto rendirémos cuenta por nuestro tiempo, talento y tesoro. ¿Estás viviendo tu vida en la luz de la eternidad?

Tragedy strikes

This has been a trying week for our church. On Wednesday morning in a tragic event or dear Sister Eva Garcia lost her son German and her husband was in critical condition in the hospital. We are thankful that Frank is doing better. Our church gathered around today in support as we laid German to rest. Please contibue to pray for this precious family as they struggle through the days ahead! Even in the midst of all of this, we know our God is good and is working things out acording to His purpose!

Esta ha sido una semana muy dificil para nuestra iglesia. El Miercoles por la mañana nuestra querida hermana Eva Garcia perdio a su hijo German y su esposo se encontraba en condicion critica en el hospital. Estamos muy agradecidos que Frank se encuentra mucho mejor. Nuestra iglesia se junto alrededor de la familia hoy mientras sepultamos a German. Porfavor ore por esta preciosa familia mientras luchan con los días dificiles por venir. Aun en medio de todos estos eventos sabemos que nuestro Dios es bueno y está logrando sus buenos propositos.

2 Peter 3:15-16 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

There is no denying that some of the things we are struggling through in our study in Romans are difficult topics and come from texts that can seem confusing. I find comfort (to an extent) in the thought that Peter himself acknowledges the complexity of some of Paul’s arguments. The most comfort, however, comes from the reminder that the Holy Spirit can supply us with all the wisdom necessary to study and apply His truths! Let the complexity of the se passages humble you and drive you to Him!

No se puede negar que algunos de los temas que estamos estudiando en Romanos son temas dificiles de pasajes que pueden confundir. Encuentro consuelo (a cierto nivel) en el reconocimiento aun del Apostol Pedro que estos argomentos pueden ser dificiles de entender. Mas consuelo aun encuentro en recordarme que el Espíritu Santo nos puede suplir la sabiduria necesaria para estudiar y aplicar sus verdades. Dejémos que la complexidad de estos pasajes nos humillen y nos empujen a él.

If the Lord has placed you in this church it is to use your particular set of talents and gifts to further His Kingdom right here! He has not placed ANY of us here to sit comfortably while someone else carries the load. As we contemplate the tasks before us, may I ask you what your role is? What is the divinely appointed part that You are to play in the vision of this church as we take steps of faith forward? Are you using what God has given you as He intends or are you hiding it in your back yard? I am SO proud of the spirit of unity that God is giving us as we step out by faith. What a wonderful thing to see His people rallying to the work. We need You though! We are not complete without everyone doing their part. There is power in unity. Let’s go forward... Together!!!

Si el Señor te ha puesto en esta iglesia es para usar tus talentos y dones para avanzar su reino aqui. No ha puesto a alguien aqui sólo para estar comodamente sentados mientras otros se encargan de hacer. Mientras contemplamos la tarea por delante, le pregunto, ¿Cual es su papel? ¿Cual es la parte que el Señor ha puesto para que Ud haga en la visión de esta iglesia? ¿Esta usando sus dones y abilidades para el Señor o los está escondiendo? Estoy TAN orgulloso del espíritu de unidad que el Señor nos ha dado mientras tomamos juntos estos pasos de fé. ¡Le necesitamos! No estámos completos sin que todos hagan su parte. Adelante... ¡Juntos!

The Lord said “My house shall be called a house of Prayer.” Not a house of preaching, teaching, singing, but the predominant characteristic would be a place of prayer. Is our church that? I wonder if He truly views us as that. I wonder if others would say of our church that we are a people of prayer! The single most important service in the life of our church is our Wednesday prayer meeting. I challenge you, I beg you as your pastor, please come and pray! There is NO greater need than God’s people to pray. Some of you work and cannot. Others chose to stay home when you could be joining us in this place as we seek God’s face! Please join us this Wednesday! Why would you not?

El Señor dijo: “Mi casa será llamada casa de oración.” No una casa de predicación, enseñanza, cantos, mas una casa characterizada por la actitud de oración. ¿Es nuestra iglesia lo que debe ser? Me pregunto si él nos ve como lo que el desea ver. El servicio mas importante en la vida de nuestra iglesia es el servicio de oración los Miercoles. Le reto, no, le suplico como su Pastor que ¡venga a orar con nosotros! No hay necesidad mas grande que el pueblo de Dios este orando. Algunos trabajan y no pueden venir, otros pueden venir y escogen quedarse en casa cuando podrían unirse al cuerpo de Cristo en oración. ¡Porfavor sea parte del servicio este Miercoles! Vengamos ante el trono del Señor juntos en oración.

Church Planting Training

Last week we had out first of three weekends of training for church-planting. Our vision is to start a sister church in the town of Bridgeton, N.J. We had over 20 of our members come out for Friday evening and 5 hours on Saturday as we were trained By Bro. Juan Kovalchuck and Bro. Alberto Hernandez. What a blessing it was to be challenged together and see the Lord expanding our vision as a church! We are very excited about what lies ahead!

Esta semana pasada tuvimos el primer de tres fines de semana dedicados al entrenamiento para fundar iglesias. Nuestra vision es de empezar una iglesia hermana en Bridgeton, N.J. Mas de 20 de nuestros miembros estuvieron presentes el Viernes y el Sabado para ser entrenados por el Dr. Juan Kovalchuck y el Hno. Alberto Hernandez. Que bendición de verdad fue ver el Señor retarnos juntos como un grupo y expander nuestra vision como Iglesia. ¡Estamos muy emocionados por lo que hay delante.

My son and I sat talking about the importance of sharing Christ with others when he asked me the following question: “Daddy, why did God pick us to know about Him?” What could I say? He asked such an amazingly profound question that really has no satisfactory answer. There is only one possible answer! Grace!!! Blessed be His holy name! He sought me! He found me!!! He drew me! He convicted me of sin! He saved my soul! He has called me to serve Him! Hallelujah! It’s all because of grace!

Estava conversando con mi hijo acerca de la importancia de compartir a Cristo con otros cuando me hizo la sigiuente pregunta: “Pappi, porque Dios nos escogio a nosotros para conocerle?” ¿Que respuesta hay para esa pregunta? ¡Hay solo una! ¡Gracia! ¡Bendito sea su santo nombre! ¡Él me busco! ¡Él me encontro! ¡Él me me atrayo a si! ¡Él me trajo convición de mi pecado! ¡Él salvo mi alma! ¡Él me ha llamado a servirle! ¡Todo por su gracia! ¡Aleluia!

When it’s all said and done, this is what it comes down too! We do not preach a religion, we preach a personal, dynamic relationship with Christ! We do not preach a ticket out of hell, we preach the practical every day Lordship of Jesus Christ in the life of the true believer. So... How is your daily walk with Him? Are you growing to be more like Him every day? Are you faithfully reading His Word and feeding your Spirit? Do you have a disciplined prayer life? Are you daily begging to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Good questions for 2008!

En fin de cuentas, todo se trata de esto. No predicamos una religión, sino una relación personal y dinamica con Cristo. No predicamos un escape del infierno sino el Señorio diario de Cristo en la vida del creyente. Entonces... ¿Como esta tu diario caminar con el Señor? ¿Estas fielmente alimentandote de la Palabra? Tienes una vida de oración disciplinada? ¿Estas pidiendo la plenirud del Espíritu cada día? Buenas preguntas para el 2008.

We have added a feature to our bulletin this year in which Pastor shares a brief thought from his heart. It is simply entitled "From Pastor's Desk." It was suggested this past week that we copy them unto the blog, so here is this week's instalment.

Hemos incluido una seción nueva en el boletin semanal de la iglesia este año en el cual el Pastor comparte unos breves pensamientos de su corazón y lo hemos entitulado "de el escritorio del Pastor." Alguien sugerió esta semana que deberíamos ponerlo aquí en el blog, entonces aquí tiene el de esta semana.

Judgement.... Guilty! These words and thoughts ran through my mind as I sat in a Bridgeton court this week observing the Judge holding court. I was reminded of the fact that I stand, without excuse before God! I have no hope of some fancy lawyer rescuing me or some technicality setting me free. As we have been studying in Romans, I AM guilty. I AM a wicked sinner! Oh praise the Lord for the salvation I have through the grace of Jesus Christ.

Juicio... Culpable. Estas palabras me corrían por la mente mientras estaba sentado en una corte en Bridgeton esta semana observando el juez. Me hizo pensar en el hecho que ante el juez del universo, yo soy “sin excusa”. No tengo esperanza que un abogado muy abil me pueda sacar o que me suelten por una technicalidad. Eso mismo hemos estado estudiando en Romanos. ¡Somos pecadores! ¡Somos culpables! Bendito sea Dios por la salvación que tenemos por la gracia de nuestro Salvador.

Steve Green in Concert!

Three years ago, our church was able to host Steve Green as he made his first trip to Vineland, NJ. What a wonderful evening the Lord granted us! We love him and the ministry the Lord has granted him! It is a great joy that our friends at America's Keswick are bringing him back in our area for a special Spanish concert. We are taking a large group from the church and encourage you to come and share with us!

It was a joy to have the Hugo Armijo family in our midst yesterday! This is a wonderful family serving the Lord in Iquique, Chile. Let's be faithful to pray for them! It has been a blessing to partner with them for the past several years, but they need more than our financial help! Let's not fail them!

Fue un gran gozo tener la familia Hugo Armijo entre nosotros ayer. Esta es una preciosa familia quienes están sirviendo al Señor fielmente en Iquique, Chile. ¡Seamos fieles en orar por ellos! Ha sido una gran bendición ser parte de su ministerio en estos años. Recordémos que ellos necesitan much mas que sólo nuestro apoyo financiero. Seamos fieles en orar por ellos. Here we are! 2008! A new year to live for our Lord! We are very excited about what God has for us this year! There is so much to do! We pray that He will guide us and empower us! We long to see His name glorified as together we go forward for His glory!

A major area of focus for us this year will be the ministry in Bridgeton. In December we voted unanimously as a church to take steps of faith towards beginning a sister church in this needy place. We had prayed together and sough the Lord's guidance. Now comes the difficult part! Voting yes is one thing, following through on the commitment and sacrifice is a whole different animal. Let's ask the Lord to fill us with His determination and power to see this through! For His glory!

¡Aqui estámos! ¡2008! ¡Otro año para vivir por el Señor! Estamos muy emocionados por todo lo que el Señor nos tiene por delante en este año. Hay mucho que hacer. Nuestra oración es que Él nos guie y nos apodere para la obra. Anhelamos ver su nombre glorificado mientras juntos vamos en adelante por su gloria.

Una area de mucho enfoque este año será la obra en Bridgeton. En Diciembre votamos unanimamente en favor de tomar pasos de fé para empezar una iglesia hermana en esta ciudad tan necesitada. Hemos orado juntos buscando la voluntad del Señor. ¡Ahora viene lo dificil! Votar si es una cosa, poner el trabajo y sacrificio necesario para cumplirlo es otra cosa completamente. Pidamosle al Señor que nos llene con su determinación y su poder para ver este sueño cumplido. ¡Todo para su gloria!

So much to be thankful for! What a youth group!

We celebrated Thanksgiving together on Sunday the 25th. What an amazing service we enjoyed together as a church as we worshipped and expressed our love and gratitude to our Savior! We celebrated the Lord's table together and rejoiced in all He has done. He has been SO good to us!

I do believe that all who were there came away incredibly grateful for the young people of our church! We are trully blessed with a dynamic group of youth leaders who are heading up a wonderful ministry! Ours is not the largest Youth group in Vineland, but what a bunch of great kids!!! We are SO grateful! Our young people put on an incredible drama that had the church in tears and moved with thankful hearts! Young people, we love you!!! Remain faithful to the Lord!!!

Celebrámos el Día del agradecimiento juntos el Domingo 25 de Noviembre. Que servicio increíble nos gozamos juntos como iglesia mientras adoramos al Señor y le expresamos nuestro agradecimiento. Concluímos el servicio celebrando juntos la Cena del Señor y nos regocijámos en todo lo que Él ha hecho. ¡Él ha sido tan bueno hacia nosotros!

Creo que cualquier persona que estuvo presente el Domingo salió de allí con un corazón muy agradecido por el grupo de jovenes de nuestra iglesia. El señor nos ha bendecido con un maravilloso grupo de líderes de jovenes quines se están encabezando de un precioso ministerio. No tenemos el grupo de jovenes mas grande de Vineland, pero ¡que grupo lindo de muchachos! ¡Estamos TAN agradecidos por ellos! Nuestros jovenes presentaron un increíble drama que dejo a los miembros de la iglesia en llanto y con corazónes agradecidos. ¡Jovenes, les queremos mucho! ¡Permanezcan fieles al Señor!

Pastor's Prayer Conference

Last week I was able to get away for several days to America's Keswick and be a part of the Pastor's Prayer conference. I have been abble to attend for six years now, and every single time have been blessed and challenged. Bro. Scott Jackson ministered to us in more than just his messages. He poured his heart into us and was used by the Lord in my life personally. Thanks Bro. Scott, and thanks to Bro. Welte and the wonderful folks at America's Keswick!

La semana pasada tuve el privilegio por varios días de participar en la semana de oración para pastores en America's Keswick. He podido atender por por seis años y cada vez que voy el Señor hace algo especiál en mi vida. El Hno. Scott Jackson no ministró con mas que sus mensajes, tomo el tiempo de deramar su corazón en nosotros. El Señor lo usó grandemente en mi vida. Gracias Hno. Scott y gracias tambien al Hno. Dr. Kovalchuk

The Lord does amazing things! For years our church has prayed about the possibility of starting a sister church in the town of Bridgeton, N.J. There is such an incredile need for a bi-lingual church there among the growing Hispanic population. A few months ago, the Lord litteraly brought Dr. Juan Kovalchuk to our doorstep. Dr. Kovalchuk is a representative of the Southern Baptist Convention, and to make a long story short, they are ready to partner with us to start a church in this needy area. We are spending these months in uch prayer for specific direction from the Lord! Dr. Kovalchuk was our guest speaker this morning as our folks got to meet him and see his heart. Amazingly, he brought a message on grace... which if you've been following our study in Romans, you would know is exactly what we have been focusing on! God is so good! This is a good man, and we are excited about what the Lord may well have for us together for the advancement of His kingdom!

¡El Señor hace cosas maravillosas! Por años nuestra iglesia ha orado sobre la posibilidad de empezar una iglesia hermana en el pueblo de Bridgeton, N.J. Hay una gran de una obra bi-lingue ya que la población Hispana allí continúa creciendo. Unos meses atras, el Señor trajo a nuestra puerta el Hno. Kovalchuk. El Dr. Kovalchuk es un representante de la Convención Bautista del Sur, y para hacer breve la historia, ellos están listos y dispuestos a cooperar con nosotros en la fundación de una obra en este lugar tan necesitado. Estamos dedicando estos meses para esta mucho en oración buscando la direción del Señor en todo esto. El Dr. Kovalchuk fue nuestro huesped esta mañana y compar'tió con nosotros la Palabra de Dios. Los hermanos tuvieron la oportunidad de conocerlo y oír lo que el Señor ha puesto en su corazón. Lo interesante fue el mensaje que el hermano nos trajo. Compartió un mensaje sobre la gracia, lo cual estamos estudiando juntos en estos días en el libro de Romanos. Cuan bueno es el Señor. Este es un buen hombre y estamos anticipando las posibiladedes mientras servimos al Señor lado a lado si es lo que Él tiene en su plan.

We don't allways trully grasp Job's statement! There are some moments in life in which it hits home more closely than others.

You give and take away...

In these days my wife and I have experienced first hand again the "taking away" part as we have lost a baby we were so excited about bringing into this world. It's not the easiest thing to bless Him as questions flood our minds, yet He is good!

It doesn't always makes sense... but He's the master! He's the artist! He's the one making the master peice on the canvas... blessed be His name!!!

No siempre entendemos completamente las palabras de Job. Hay momentos en la vida cuando parece ser mas real que otras veces.

Tu das, tu quitas...

En estos días hemos experimentado en mi familia es parte de "quitar" al perder un bebecito que estavamos tan emocionados de ver nacer. No es lo mas facil bendecirle cuando la mente de uno está llena de mil preguntas, pero aun así Él es bueno.

No siempre entendemos todo lo que Él hace, pero Él es el amo. ¡Él es el artista quien está formando su obra de arte preciosa.... bendito sea su nombre!

One Man - One Woman

On Sunday, October 21st, our church was blessed to participate in a rally in Trenton, on the steps of the State Capital building, to let our legislators know that we are against them changing the definition of marriage found in the Bible! Much to our surprise, we were one of many Hispanic or Bi-lingual congregations present.

El Domingo, 21 de Octubre, nuestra iglesia tuvo el privilegio de participar en una demonstración en las graderas de la capital en Trenton, N.J. para dejar saber a los representantes que estámos en contra de cualquier esfuerzo en re-definir el matrimonio. Fue una linda sorpresa ver varias otras iglesias Hispanas y bi-lingues presentes.

Mission's Conference '07

What a wonderful conference the Lord gave us as we were challenged deeply to see the world through His eyes! God worked in the hearts of His people to have us step up by faith and increase our Faith Promise commitments significantly. More importantly we are challenged to live out our faith... The harvest is all around us!!!

It was a joy to have our missionaries in Uganda, the Stensaas family with us for the conference. Bro. Matt and I studied together years ago and I am blessed by his continuing friendship. The Stensaas'are doing a wonderful work in Uganda! Our church is privileged to share in their ministry!

Also reporting during our conference were Bro. ALejandro Armijo and family from Chile. The Armijó family have been our missionaries for a dozen years. They are an incredible blessing and we are so blessed by this precious family. They will be moving on to a new work on their return to Chile after having established a thriving church in Santiago during this past term.

We are also excited about the addition of a wonderful couple serving with Campus Crusade for Christ. Austin and Laura Krokos have ties to this area as Austin grew up here. They are being used in a special way as they minister to the spiritual needs of college students and we are grateful to count them as our missionaries.

Amazing open doors

We are SO thrilled with a series of open doors the Lord seems to be giving us for ministry! Over the last several months the Lord has allowed us to be on the radio for an hour every Sunday (from 4:00-5:00 P.M.) This has been afforded our church free of charge through the generosity of Don Francisco Torres Torres. We have been asked to continue to come indefinitely and fill this slot. We are so blessed with this opportunity to share Christ through this exciting medium.

We are also setting aside the months of October and November to pray very specifically as a church about some very exciting possibilitites we see before us. We will soon share more information about this. We serve a God of miracles!!! He is constantly at work and simply seeks people who will seek above all else to bring honor to His name!
